The Vilcek Foundation partnered with choreographer Alice Gosti on a film marking ten years since her Creative Promise Prize. Three dancers move in a 30-pound dress built from more than 1,500 discarded keys, shedding metal as the choreography intensifies. A performance this large needed a film to match, shot in grand interiors with long light and expansive composition.
I came on with We Are Films as a production assistant and BTS photographer.
I rented the van, sourced and moved production materials to location, and helped build the camera and lighting setups. Then I shot stills all day. A dress that sheds keys every take means nothing resets cleanly, so the documentation had to move at the speed of the performance.

The finished film became the centerpiece of the Vilcek Foundation's 2022 Prizes in Dance and lives on their site. My stills gave the production a full visual record of a shoot that could not be repeated.
Next projects.
