Big Apple Church wanted to set the stage for a sermon series entitled “Lost and Found.” This video would introduce a series of lessons on biblical stories about the lost coin, the lost sheep, and the prodigal son. The series illustrated how Jesus reaches those who are lost and brings them back into the fold.
Because Big Apple Church is located near Times Square, in the heart of New York City, I wanted to use the city’s visuals to reflect how easy it is for New Yorkers to feel lost and overwhelmed.
The visual narrative moves from the grit of subway tunnels to golden sunlight streaming through the Q Train windows, symbolizing the hope of finding yourself right where you’re meant to be. I was honored to work with award-winning voice actor Marc Thompson for the voiceover. In order to achieve the client’s tight timeline, I created a strategic shot list and schedule to film the full video within a single day.
The video was a mainstay during the 14-week “Lost and Found” series. It was featured on social media and played for live audiences to introduce each sermon.
Next projects.
